Survey | Religion, Values, and Experiences: Black and Hispanic American Attitudes on Abortion and Reproductive Issues

A new survey conducted by PRRI finds that when it comes to abortion, Hispanic Americans’ views about morality and legality are closely linked. Among black Americans, however, beliefs about the morality of abortion are less likely to influence perspectives on abortion’s legality. Both black and Hispanic Americans who have a close friend or family member who has had an abortion are more likely to believe that abortion should be legal and view abortion clinics as safe.
