CEO Robert P. Jones, Panelist at The 32nd Annual Everett C. Parker Lecture
10.07.2014

CEO Robert P Jones will speak on the religion and the news media panel at the 32nd Annual Everett C. Parker Lecture and Awards Breakfast. The event will be held at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the Newseum. This year’s Parker Lecture will be delivered by Tom Wheeler, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, marking the 50th anniversary of Parker’s historic petition to the FCC.

Following the lecture and awards program, attendees – along with Newseum members and the public – are invited to discussions of how the news media reports on religion and related issues; for a discussion of minorities in the media in 2014 and a screening of the short documentary film “OC, Inc.: The Untold Story.”

Jones will be joined by Rev. J. Bennett Guess, Executive Minister of Local Church Ministries, United Church of Christ on the panel. Moderating will be Gene Policinski, COO of the Newseum Institute and the Institute’s First Amendment Center.

Registration is $50 for a nonprofit individual or $250 for a corporate individual.
